My New Toy

We’ve been working on my behavior, and one of my restrictions is toys. I have to have permission before I can play with my toys. Anyway, I decided to take matters into my own hands and find a toy to play with. The best I could do was an orange limb trimming that still had some leaves on it. It made the best toy. I carried it everywhere. They thought I look so cute they took a picture. The bad news is they took that toy away from me too.

I’m now 14 months old and seem to be doing well. I go to my puppy meetings every month and obedience class every week. I’m very patient and love to please. I enjoy living with my foster family and socializing with the other labs. I’m eager to go to work every day, enjoy visits to the market, going to the movies and volleyball games, taking a snooze at restaurants and just hanging out. I’m 52 lbs and still little for my age. It is to my benefit, because everyone still thinks I’m a puppy and sooo cute.

Mimi's Puppies

Mimi and Pups
9 Puppies
Back to GDA for another evaluation. I got a glowing report on my obedience, but I still need to work on my animal distraction. They think spaying me will help with my aggressive behavior, so I had the surgery this month. Oh ya – Mimi had 9 puppies – Mom and puppies are doing well. Brenda said they are so cute. I’m not aloud to see them. I remind Brenda that one year ago I was dreadfully cute and that I haven’t changed a bit. She agrees.

That winter my crib discount louis vuitton wallet overflowed with corn---fat, healthy three-to-a-stalk ears filled with kernels from heel to tip---while my neighbors’ fields yielded only louis vuitton monogram handbags brown, empty husks. Although plantings past may have fallen below the 50-percent expectation, and they probably will again in the future, I am still sustained by the crop that louis vuitton belts for men flourishes during the drought. http://www.louis-vuitton2012.com/

Obedience Class

Walt my instructor

I’m still going to obedience class every week. Brenda’s a little concerned about my aggressive behavior towards pushy dogs. If a dog gets in my face I don’t back down. I’m going to have to work on ignoring the other dogs. That is going to be quite a challenge. I’m doing really well in class, its fun, and my instructor really thinks I’m cute.

Fat Mimi
I went with Mimi to the vet. GDA wanted an ultra sound done to see how many puppies she has – they counted at least 7. She is getting really fat and doesn’t want to play with me. Good thing I still have Emma to play with. We’re becoming really good friends.

I’ve been to a lot of college campus this month to watch volleyball. USC’s band is really loud. That was my first encounter with a live pep band. It was a little unnerving at first, but I quickly got use to it.

You won’t believe what a small world it is. Brenda, Grandma, and I were out for a day of shopping at the Simi Valley Town Center Mall and we ran into a fellow puppy raiser. It just so happens, that they raised “Star” sponsored by Simi Valley Boots and Slippers just like me. Big licks and wags for your continued support. I’m working hard to make you proud.

Happy New Year Everyone

Regan and Mimi
GDA Group
I’m once again back from the kennel. I had a wonderful time. I had an especially fun room mate and got to play with lots of puppies. They want us to spend time in the kennel so we will not be stressed out when we go in for training. I had a little trouble this time. The kennel techs caught me fence fighting with the dogs around me. I thought it was fun to run back and forth barking at the other dogs. I’m going to have to work on breaking my new bad habit.

It is volleyball season at CSUN, so my foster family spends a lot of their free time going to games. It’s a good experience for me because there are bouncing balls, whistles, and cheering – everything needed to try and get a good dog worked up.

We had a fun Guide Dog meeting this month. Our people were blind folded and we got to lead. They got to see what it was like to take care of us when they can’t see. It was very enlightening for all of us.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Christmas 2005
My first Christmas and I get to spend it at the “Gray Bar Hotel” (GDA Kennel). I went into heat the second weekend in December. It’s not so bad, they treat us well here. Then the next weekend Mimi went into heat, so we’re both here. Mimi should be a Mom in 2006. I even got a stocking with my name on it. The family promised they would save the Christmas presents for when Mimi and I get home. I was afraid Emma was going to get everything and she's just a pet. Mimi and I are the working dogs

Work

Seagulls

I spent most of the month of November working. Everyday after lunch Brenda and I go for a walk and work on distractions and obedience. I took a few pictures, so that you could get a feel for what I have to do everyday. As you can see, I have a “ruff” life. It is really hard for a bird and water dog not to chase Seagulls or go in the water. I have to show real restraint.

GDA Graduation

Puppy raiser with Shilo and new partner
Mimi & Regan @ Graduation
Mimi and I went to a GDA graduation. That’s going to me some day. One of Mimi’s sons graduated and we wanted to be there to support him. It was a very emotional day. It’s so wonderful. Just think, someday I might be able to give someone the gift of sight and as a bonus I get a best friend for life. I can’t wait until it’s my turn.

Guess what? I tied with Willa (another puppy in training) for “Scariest” costume at our puppy meeting. Willa was a devil and I’m not sure what I was supposed to be, but I guess it was really scary. I think the scull and cross bones is what did it. Brenda kept putting stuff on me. I believe it was a test to see how much I would wear. I showed her, I never complained and wore everything like a trooper. After looking at the pictures, what do you think I am?
